DirectShutdown - DirectShutDown is a free, commercial-quality uitlity for easier ShutDown, Restart, Log Off, Lock, StandBy or Hibernate your PC.

When DirectShutDown is running, icon appears on the taskbar on the end opposite the "Start" button. You can choose action you need just click it with the right mouse button to view the context menu.. You can set a keyboard shortcut for any action - shutdown, reboot, hibernate, standby, lock, logoff.

Also, DirectShutDown will automatically terminate applications if they are not responding making shutdowns both quicker and safer.

DirectShutDown allows you to skip annoying shutdown screens like "Shut Down Windows" screen in Windows 2003.

bugs after the great beginning

Originally I need a program to allow me to hibernate my system by pressing a hotkey combination. DirectShutdown seemed to be the goal, but after starting it came the negative surprise: I cannot uncheck the comfirmation option ("Confirm Hibernate") and I even cannot change the key combination: I select the letter "A" f.e., but it changes back to "H". Of course it would not be a problem, but I definitely do not need any confirmation, after pushing (the default) combination it should hibernate my system immediately...

A competent program

Seems to be a useful program but it didn't resolve the problem I have - an inability to shut down properly due to a 0x804E35E9 error

Direct Shutdown review

I gave this a good review as if it had worked. In my case, it didn't work as it should. I had to end up using System Restore to get rid of it. The two times I tried to use it, I ended up with a blue screen. The second time I couldn't get it restarted and had to restore. I have to assume that it is my configuration causing the problem. I downloaded some shortcuts and the restart worked but coming out of hibernation, the USB mouse wouldn't work.
